Just had a second polynucleotides treatment under the care of Dr Paul. He took time to explain the treatment, downtime and recovery periods. All of this was done within a friendly engaging environment where he encouraged questions. I'm super happy with the results and the professionalism of how Dr Paul consulted me, especially as I had initially wanted tear trough injections but after review advised on a different course, of polynucleotides. Certainly will be back, and can't recommend enough.

I had a great experience with Paul for lip filler and Sunekos injections. He is attentive, friendly, and very knowledgeable. He took the time to understand my facial structure, how it moved to ensure a nice balanced and natural look. Also appreciate that he isn’t afraid to say no to more treatments so that things don’t look overdone. Will always be happy to recommend!

I went to Dr Elgey and had 4 mls of dermal filler which he strategically placed in the temples, cheeks and chin and I am honestly blown away by the results. It’s a real game changer! I went in feeling super nervous but Dr Elgey is so knowledgeable, professional and warm - I quickly felt at ease. We spoke at length about my concerns and then he advised me on where the filler should be placed to get the best results. I had absolutely no bruising afterwards and swelling was minimal. The result is so natural but I look so much younger and fresher. I honestly wish I had done it sooner.

I had a consultation and UltraClear treatment with Dr Paul for acne scarring with other skin concerns and my experience has been excellent from start to finish. After speaking with several practitioners, what stood out most was Dr Paul’s honesty and knowledge. I never felt pressured into treatment, and he took the time to explain the reasoning behind his recommendations. Throughout the process, he has been incredibly responsive and supportive, answering all of my questions before and after treatment. He also prepared a personalised pre-treatment skincare cream which made me feel very well looked after. The recovery has also gone smoothly thanks to the clear aftercare instructions and Dr Paul’s ongoing support.

Highly recommend Paul. He really put me at ease, showed careful consideration and thought for the fact I was coming to him after having previous filler in my lips dissolved due to migration, and kept me very well informed throughout the process. Clearly highly skilled and I am so happy to have found someone I can trust with my lips for the long term!

The treatment

What are polynucleotides?

Polynucleotides are natural compounds made from nucleotides, the building blocks of DNA and RNA. In aesthetic medicine they use the regenerative properties of these molecules to promote skin rejuvenation, hydration and healing.

Once injected into the skin they attract water molecules to boost hydration, promote collagen production and improve blood flow to the area. This improves skin elasticity and firmness while helping to repair damaged tissue and reduce inflammation, which makes them well suited to ageing skin and to delicate, thin-skinned areas such as the under-eye.

Mechanism of action

How Do Polynucleotides Work?

When injected into the skin, polynucleotides stimulate cellular growth and repair.

They attract water molecules, enhancing hydration, promote collagen production, and improve blood flow to the area.

This process not only improves skin elasticity and firmness but also aids in the repair of damaged tissues and reduces inflammation, making it an excellent treatment for ageing skin and various dermatological issues.

Understand the Science Behind Treatment

What can be treated?

Pricing

Polynucleotide Pricing

Pricing depends on:

  • The area treated, with the under-eye priced differently to the full face
  • The number of sessions in your course
  • Any regenerative treatments combined in the same plan

Polynucleotides are a course treatment, not a one-off, so you are quoted for the plan rather than the appointment. That happens at consultation, before anything is booked.

Polynucleotides FAQs

If you are curious about the treatment, aftercare, or potential side effects, the answers to common questions are below. Polynucleotides work gradually, so knowing what to expect and when matters.

What are Polynucleotides?

Polynucleotides are natural compounds composed of nucleotides, the building blocks of DNA and RNA. In aesthetic medicine, polynucleotide treatments use the regenerative properties of these molecules to promote skin rejuvenation, hydration, and healing. At our London, Dublin and Dubai clinics, we specialise in bespoke polynucleotide treatments designed to enhance skin quality and vitality.

How do Polynucleotides work?

When injected into the skin, polynucleotides stimulate cellular growth and repair by attracting water molecules, enhancing hydration, and promoting collagen production, as well as improve blood flow to the area. This process not only improves skin elasticity and firmness but also aids in the repair of damaged tissues and reduces inflammation, making it an excellent treatment for ageing skin and various dermatological issues.

What is the Polynucleotide treatment protocol?

Our clinic’s approach to polynucleotide treatment includes the following steps: Initial Consultation: We discuss your skin concerns and goals to determine the most effective treatment plan. Preparation: The target area is thoroughly cleansed and prepared for treatment. Injection: Using fine needles or cannula, polynucleotides are carefully injected into the dermal layer of the skin. Post-Treatment Care: Instructions include avoiding make up or skin products for 4 hours post treatment and avoid excessive exercise to reduce risk of swelling and bruising.

What are the benefits of Polynucleotide treatments?

Enhanced Skin Hydration: Increases moisture retention for a plumper, more youthful complexion. Improved Skin Elasticity: Boosts collagen production, reducing fine lines and wrinkles. Healing Properties: Helps repair sun damage and improve the overall skin texture. Anti-inflammatory Effects: Reduces skin redness and irritation, beneficial for sensitive or reactive skin types.

What are the risks of Polynucleotide treatments?

While polynucleotide treatments are generally well-tolerated and safe, they can include minor risks, such as: Mild Swelling and Redness: Typically resolves within a few hours to days. Bruising at Injection Site: Occurs occasionally but is usually temporary. Sensitivity: Some patients may experience temporary sensitivity at the treatment area.

What is the longevity of Polynucleotide treatments?

The results of polynucleotide treatments can last up to 6-12 months and are influenced by factors such as the individual’s skin type, age, and lifestyle. To maintain optimal results, regular treatment sessions as advised during your consultation at our London, Dublin, and Dubai clinics are recommended.

What skin concerns can Polynucleotide treatments help improve?

Polynucleotide treatments are commonly used to support skin quality in patients experiencing a range of age-related and environmental skin concerns. These may include photoaging, where long-term sun exposure contributes to pigmentation changes, fine lines, and reduced skin resilience. They are also used in cases of reduced skin elasticity, which occurs as collagen and elastin levels naturally decline over time, leading to a loss of firmness. Patients with dull or dehydrated skin may benefit, as dehydration and barrier impairment can leave the skin looking tired, rough, or lacking radiance. Fine lines and wrinkles may become more noticeable as collagen production slows and skin structure weakens with age. Polynucleotides are also used to support skin repair and regeneration, helping to improve overall skin resilience and recovery from daily environmental stress. In addition, they may be suitable for certain inflammatory skin conditions, where chronic inflammation contributes to redness, sensitivity, and impaired skin barrier function. Suitability for treatment is always assessed during consultation to ensure the most appropriate approach for each individual.
