Is the treatment painful?
Most patients report mild discomfort. I use topical or local anaesthetic and gentle technique to minimise pain.
Who carries out the treatment and what safety standards are in place?
All treatments are performed by Dr Paul Elgey, a UK-registered medical doctor specialising in medical aesthetics. Only CE-marked dermal fillers and medical-grade biostimulators are used. Prescription-only medicines (e.g. botulinum toxin) are discussed and prescribed only following consultation. Hyaluronidase is available on site if filler reversal is ever clinically indicated. Treatments are unsuitable for under-18s or during pregnancy/breastfeeding.
What are the risks?
Common effects include mild swelling, tenderness or bruising. Rare but important complications such as asymmetry or vascular compromise are discussed during consent.
Can filler be reversed?
Yes. Hyaluronic acid fillers can be safely dissolved using hyaluronidase where clinically indicated.
Can this replace surgery?
It’s an excellent non-surgical alternative for structural restoration, but it cannot replicate surgical results. I will advise honestly if surgery may be more appropriate.
